Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American sitarist and musician. She's the smallest woman and also the first woman to receive an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is the student and child of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. She began her life by hopping back and forth between London as well as New Delhi. When she was 13, she gave her debut performance in New Delhi. In Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned the high-school degree. Anouskha was only a teenager, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She has been performing with her father on stage for many years. The singer made Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. In addition to performing in many of the biggest venues as well, she has a long stage career. Her career extends beyond the realm of music. Bapi the Love of My Live, a biographical picture written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003 she starred as the role of a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising star and her career will continue to grow. Anoushka Shankar is an English born musician who spent her early days between London, Delhi and California. At the age of nine, she began studying music under her father, who made her debut with the sitar 4 years later at his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she also gained a variety of opportunities. While still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. The youngest female to win the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament as recognition of her talent and musicianship within the Asian Arts.
